  • 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, crumbled (about 8-10 slices) Can be substituted with plant-based 'bacon' for a vegetarian option.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Use mild cheddar for kid-friendly version.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream Adds tangy flavor.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped Optional garnish.

Seasonings

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste Remember that bacon and cheese are already salty.

Preparation

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese. Ensure it’s at room temperature for easy mixing. Microwave for 15-20 seconds if needed.
  • Add the sour cream to the bowl for a tangy flavor.
  • Sprinkle in the garlic powder and onion powder to enhance the flavor.
  • Blend the cream cheese and sour cream together until smooth and creamy using a mixer or spatula.
  • Fold in the crumbled turkey bacon and shredded cheddar cheese, reserving some cheese for topping.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assembly and Cooking

  • Grab a large serving platter or baking dish and lay down a generous layer of Doritos.
  • Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture over the Doritos and spread it evenly.
  • Add another layer of Doritos on top of the cream cheese mixture.
  • Repeat the layering process until ingredients are used up, ideally stopping after two layers.
  • Sprinkle the reserved crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese on top. Optionally, add chopped green onions.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cover the assembled dish with aluminum foil.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes to warm through and melt the cheese.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • For extra crispiness, broil for a minute, watching closely.

Notes
