  • 1/2 cup milk Use a dairy-free alternative for a dairy-free version.
  • 2 tablespoons butter For making cheese sauce.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Chicken Filling

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground chicken until browned, around 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes, Cajun seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.

Making Cheese Sauce

  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour, then gradually add the milk, stirring until thickened.
  • Mix in the cheddar cheese until melted.

Assembling the Sloppy Joes

  • Toast the brioche buns.
  • Pile the Cajun chicken mixture onto each bun and drizzle with the cheese sauce before serving.

Notes

For a creamier spin, add a spoon of cream cheese to the skillet near the end. Store filling and sauce separately for longer freshness. Meal prep by cooking the filling ahead of time and refrigerating or freezing.
