  • 2 large onions, caramelized
  • 2 cups uncooked rice
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Swiss or Gruyere)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the caramelized onions and ground beef, cooking until the beef is browned.
  • Stir in the rice, beef broth, and heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper.

Baking

  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with shredded cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Caramelizing onions ahead of time can save you time. Leftovers keep well in the fridge for 3-4 days and can be reheated in the oven or microwave. Consider adding vegetables or using different types of cheese based on your preference.
