  • 2 lbs chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/3 cup honey Use a milder honey for smooth glaze.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Can be swapped with tamari for gluten-free.
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Can adjust amount based on preference.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated Optional to omit for kid-friendly version.
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch Important for achieving sticky texture.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds For garnish.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For cooking the chicken.

Preparation

  • Cut chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and toss with cornstarch until evenly coated.

Making the Glaze

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.

Cooking the Chicken

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

Glazing

  • Pour the honey glaze over the cooked chicken and stir to coat. Continue cooking for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

Serving

  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet with a splash of water to loosen the sauce.
